Another great catch!

Went back to the point and slammed the fish again. The first pass down the bank was very productive, two doubles and a triple to start the morning. We continued to pick fish through the day. Our program is starting to look more and more like an Aug. program.

Riggers with, Moon shine, blue lemon, mingolin beef, and Happy meal on the out and downs, and A white on white spin doctor with a pickled sunshine fly on the center rigger all took several fish. Next the wire divers with Spin doctors took fish. A tuxedo with a Margie fly and a Blue bubble, blue bubble was our best. All the cores took fish, 5, 7, and 10 colors. Our best spoons were Moon shine Tarzan tangerine and Blue Lemon. Later in the day we switched to DW super slims and Stingers. We took some Steelhead to go with our Salmon from the morning bite. One of them was 14lbs.

July 10th Fishing Report--Another Heavy Cooler!

We fished off Big Point Sable again in 135ft to 175ft of water. The temperature break was still there at 50ft. We took big 4 year old Kings on riggers 45ft, 54ft, and 77ft down with moonshines spoons and spin doctors. Wire divers 80ft and 100ft back with spin doctors also produced nice fish. A couple more came on high divers back 150ft. All 6 core rods produced fish. Here’s a tip: Try the new Tangerine Tarzan Moon Shine spoon on your half core. Another great day of fishing. Went back to the dock with another heavy cooler.

July 9th Fishing Report--Took the Limit!

Left the dock early at 4am. We had hoped to catch fish in the dark with a full moon. No such luck, the east wind overnight turned the water near shore at the point to 39 degrees. As daylight approached we found ourselves straight off the point in 120ft of water. I could see to the west another 100 yards a temperature break on the surface of the water. As soon as we passed through it the temp warmed up 6 degrees. All hell broke loose. Riggers 38ft, 42ft, and 55ft all had fish on. 3, 5, and 10 color core all took fish. Our best was the 5 color with Lemon and Tangerine Tarzan Moon shines. Took limit and went home early! Great Day!

July 4th Fishing Report

Fishing has been slow due to a variety of reasons. I really wanted to catch fish, so I made the decision to go deep and look for more active fish. We went 17 miles SW, to 47s and 47w. There in 450ft of water we found a band of cold water about 100 yards wide and 2 miles long. Riggers set at 51ft, 53ft and 57ft all took fish as did all the sliders. 3, 5, 7, and 10 color cores all took fish. We even took a couple on the high mono divers. Out there, it was a spoon bite of cores. Smaller spoons 4D’s and stingers were the best. We came back to the dock with a mixed bag of Steelhead, Lake Trout and King Salmon. Nice catch with just a few small ones mixed in. This was a great day, lots of action.

June 30, 2009 Fishing Report

Fishing was slow over the weekend. Some fish were caught off the project, in 100ft of water early in the morning. Fishing 45ft to 70ft down on riggers, and wire divers back 140ft with spoons took some nice kings. The action died early. We moved off shore to the 43s and trolled north. We took some nice steelhead out there in the top 45ft. Fish came on mostly lead core, 5, 7,and 10 color. We need a strong northwest wind to change the water out. I came across on the S.S. Badger carferry on Friday. It appears that all the good water is out in the middle of the lake.

FISHING REPORT June 17, 2009

With the unsettled water, the summer change over is in full swing. The fish are still here, they are just scattered in small pockets, and moving fast. Here one day and gone the next. Good catches are still being taken by some. Here are some recommendations: 1) Do your home work. Stay in contact with other fisherman that have been out fishing recently. Where did they go? How was the fishing? 2) Don’t spend too much time in one area. Pick a compass heading and cover lots of water, until you find fish. 3) Change your program often until you find what works. 4) Don’t forget to check the water temp chart before you get started.

Over the weekend the best fishing seemed to be northwest 07s to the 12s north and the 32s to the 37s west. There was a nice scum line. Steelhead and kings were being taken. Most of the action was on the core rods, 3, 5, 7, and 10 color all produced fish. High mono divers 140ft to 170ft back also took fish. Some rigger action set from 45ft to 70ft down with moon shine bates. Bright colors are working well on the cores and divers. Mixed veggie was the hot lure. There were also some reports of fair catches being taken from little point.

Monday we fished in front of the project in the 53s and 54s. We started in 100ft if water in the morning, it was slow, only 3 fish. Pointed the boat west, when we hit the 36s and out to the 38s, the fish started biting again. 5, 7, and 10 color core was our best. Some rigger bits 55ft down and 61 down took fish. We ran all spoons. Bright colors were our best. Mixed veggie was hot. Had a nice box in the end.
