This has been a great week for fishing. We have been filling the coolers all week. Check out this catch. If you would like to get in on some of the action, now is the time. Give your favorite charter captain a call and book a trip for you and your friends. August is just around the corner. The program remains the same, why change a good thing.

We had a very interesting evening with this Russian family on vacation. Despite the language barrier we were still able to catch them a nice box of fish. They were amazed at the breathtaking scenery, clear fresh water and the size of Lake Michigan.

The fishing is really heating up. This is the best fishing so far this year. I have a saying, (Team work is what puts fish in the boat!) These guys were great to fish with. There catch tells it all. We had action, action, and more action, starting at 5:30am with the 3rd rod in the water. We started in the 02s and walked the bank north, in 100ft of water to the 05s. Mornings like this are what my mate and I live for.

Program: Down riggers, out and downs at 57ft and 61ft with plugs, center rigger with a meatless teaser down 80ft took lots of bites. High wires back 230ft with plugs, and low wires with spin doctors back 150ft were very productive. Core and ½ with plugs also took fish.

Who said the fish don’t bite as good at night. These guys are to tell you this just ain't so. The fish typically move off shore during the day and return to feed on the bank at night. We started in 175ft of water in the 00’s. The afternoon program: Meat, Meat, and more Meat, with a slow troll. Speed 1.8 at the ball. Toward evening we removed the meat and switched to plugs and moonshine spoons, then we moved in for the night bite in 100ft of water.

Good fishing continues.
This family had a great time. With a little help everyone was able to catch fish. We started at early at 5:00am, and ran the bank off the state bark from the 00,s to the 01.50 and back again. The fish seemed to be on the south end of the bank. Program: Plugs on the core and 1/2, Moon shine spoons on the out and down riggers, and spin doctors on the wire divers. The break was at 60ft. Later in the morning we put meat down.
